PIERCER PLUG

Piercing plug is the key tool in the seamless steel pipes production.Its quality and service life will directly affect the output and economic benefits of the enterprise. In the process of making seamless steel tubes, the solid billet is made into hollow tube, and the metal deformation is mainly carried out on the plug. The working condition of piercing plug is very bad, not only bears the strong axial pressure, but also needs to overcome the strong deformation friction force generated between the piercing plug and the inner wall.
1.Material:
 Usually, the material of piercing plug is : 35CrMo, H13, 20CrNi4,Moly plug etc,applicable for different steel grade as carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel,brazing steel etc.

Size: Ф30-Ф500mm
Good design shape , also can do customized products as per clients’ request. such as with or without moly tips; with or without water jet.
3.The measures to improve the life and wear resistance of the plug
(1) water cooling.External water cooling or internal water cooling during rolling
(2) Select reasonable materials, not only high wear resistance and strength, but also resistance to rapid cooling and rapid heating;
(3) Design a reasonable shape;
(4) A reasonable heat treatment system is adopted to ensure that the material has certain structure and performance, and to form a compact oxide film on the surface of the plug, so as to improve the wear resistance of the plug.
